Volunteer Trainer, Pride Fastpitch

A proud alumna of the organization, Isabella Secaira-Cotto has been part of the Long Island Pride for over a decade. She began her journey with the inaugural 12U team, playing six incredible seasons that shaped her into the athlete and leader she is today. Inspired by legends like Lisa Fernandez and Jennie Finch, Isabella’s passion for the game started in Valley Stream Little League, where she developed her skills as a pitcher.

A standout at Valley Stream South High School, Isabella was a four-year varsity starter,

earning:

  • Three-time All-County honors

  • One-time All-Conference honors

  • Two conference championships

  • Three-time Newsday Top 100 Softball Player recognition

  • Two-time All-Long Island selection

She maintained a .400+ career batting average and was on pace to break the

1,000-strikeout mark, a milestone cut short due to the pandemic.

Before her collegiate career, Isabella had the incredible honor of playing on the Puerto Rican Junior National Team. She helped secure a bronze medal at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, and earned a spot on the 2022 Puerto Rican National Team’s summer roster. One of her proudest moments was starting against the USA Junior National Team, where she delivered a standout performance, holding them to just two runs—their lowest total in the tournament.

Now a senior at Wesleyan University, Isabella is a four-year pitcher and first baseman for the Varsity Softball Team. She has earned:

  • Two-time All-NESCAC honors (2nd Team in 2022, 1st Team in 2024)

  • NFCA All-Region honors (3rd Team)

Beyond the field, she is a leader in her campus community, serving as an Executive Board Member for Wesleyan’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and Student-Athlete of Color Leadership Council (SACLC). She also brings her analytical expertise to Wesleyan’s 2024 NESCAC Champion Football Team as their Director of Analytics and Defensive Analyst.

Off the field, Isabella is forging a career in professional sports operations and analytics. She has held prestigious internships, including:

  • New York Yankees (Advanced Scouting, 2023)

  • Los Angeles Chargers (Analytics & Player Personnel, 2024)

Isabella has just accepted a position working for the Boston Red Sox’s working as a Baseball Operations Associate working with the Professional, International, and

Amateur Scouting team. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of her parents, Damian and Jacqueline Secaira-Cotto, who instilled in her the values of hard work, dedication, grit, and kindness. She lives by the words of her father, Damian: “The only thing you have control over is how hard you work.”

As she continues her journey, Bella’s influence on those around her is undeniable. Her leadership, dedication, and passion for the game not only elevate her own performance but also leave a lasting impact on everyone she works with. She represents the very best of Long Island Pride Fastpitch, and her future, both in softball and beyond, is incredibly bright.
